Richard Knights and his Ford Escort Cabriolet

Richard Knights and his Ford Escort Cabriolet

The current issue of Practical Classics brings you the stories of key workers and their cars. Anyone from nurses to firemen traveling to work in their classics, to those able to take their minds of the difficult reality of life under lockdown by restoring their project car, all are celebrated in the magazine.

You can read all about Richard Knights (above), who’s a fireman at Colchester Fire Station. He’s been using his Ford Escort Cabriolet to get to and from work each day during the lockdown period. He joins hundreds of others - from an enthusiast who uses his Frazer Nash to drop off PPE to local hospitals and a furloughed accountant who is making masks with his 3D printer, dropping them off with his MGB to a nurse who drives to work at the local COVID ward in her Ford Sierra Cosworth.

Including the real story behind why Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson donated his Triumph 1300 to a key worker.
